Madison Hall is centrally located on the Foggy Bottom campus, making it one of the most conveniently located dorms on campus, especially for freshmen. It is down the street from the Smith Center, Kogan Plaza and Midcampus, Lisner Auditorium, Gelman Library, and across from Starbucks and the Academic Center. It is about 5 minutes from the Foggy Bottom Metro and about 10 minutes from any part of campus.

Madison Hall is designated as the Humanities and Sports Studies House but houses freshmen of all majors. The Humanities and Sports Studies House at Madison gives students a chance to explore the human condition through a variety of lenses. Literature and languages, history, theology and philosophy, psychology and sociology, sports studies, and American studies are some of the disciplinary subjects that unify students in this House towards an exploration of human interaction with each other and with the world around us.
